How long on a diet?

What is the maximum amount of time you guys diet for?

I'm in my 3rd week of CKD and I plan on going back up to maintanance after 8 weeks. I'll probably start eating 40/40/20 at maintanance for 2 weeks total and than start dieting again if I have more fat to lose. I'm around 13-15% right now and wanna get to at least 9% btw.

Yeah, so anyways do you guys do something similar?

There is no real maximum - it all depends on the goals/bodyfat amount etc...

I think the average has been about 12-16 weeks, but I have had clients that were on a diet for 24 weeks.

Do you think the longer one is on a diet the slower the metabolism gets?

Obviously the more weight you lose the lower your caloric requirements will be, but does your body's metabolism not slow down with longer dieting periods?

yes , correct

your bodily metabolic rate does slow down, but if you have your diet and training/rest set-up correctly, you should not have problems w/ a very low metabolic rate
