Any PT's here?

How did you become a PT? Do you work solo or through a gym? I really want to get into PTing to help pay for college next year, but have no idea where to start...

I am a PT.

First thing you'd want to do is get a certification. A good one to start with would be ISSA or ACE. Moving on to NASM or others would be a second option.

Starting off solo, without really any knowledge of setting up programs -- even though you'd learn it through your cert, is always difficult. If you have prior knowledge, you can do it -- but you still have to go out and find your clients to make your $$$.

I have a thread on IronTrybe regarding this... all the benefits and disadvantages to solo vs. corporate attorney.

It never hurts to get some time in at a corporate gym first -- only thing is, you'll get around 15-20$ an hour for training. When I trained solo, I charged $45-75 depending on who I was training.
