Default post workout nutrition question

at the moment i am mixing 50 grams of cornflakes with whey after a workout instead of dextrose i guess its ok as cornflakes scores about 72 on the glimic index ,what do you guys think ,i even tought of mixing whey with white rice or potatoes which are all high on the glymic index ,
at least we get some nutrition with these items not like dextrose and maltodextrin .

The idea behind using whey PWO is that it's digested rapidly to provide your body with protein during that supposed "2 hr window" during which your body is allegedly able to assimilate nutrients more efficiently.The idea behind sugar is that insulin pushes nutrients into cells (both fat and muscle,BTW).The whey itself provides enough of an insulin spike,IMO,as up to 50 % of it is converted to sugar.So take twice as much whey as you think you need .If you want 50g protein,take 100 g.That way you'll get 50g protein,50 g sugar.I take a slower digesting protein (milk and egg) 1-1/2 hrs before I work out.I figure that way I'll have a good sized amino acid pool in my bloodstream right about when I need it.I would save the potatoes and/or "real food " for a second PWO meal a coupla hours later.

100 grams of just whey after training will get a bit pricey i guess.
at least here in malta its about .60 u$d per serving of 26 grams.

i used to take dextrose before something like n large but i do not find that much of a difference and after all if sugar is bad for us i think even if we take it after a workout it is still bad , it is still something processed ,correct me if im wrong , even cornflakes is bad but at least its got some vitamins in it
and even potatoes and rice if you put them in a blender and mix them with whey they are highly digestable to take after a workout i think.
