I need help/advice. I've been trying to lose about 25lbs for a year. My diet is perfectly clean. I've tried Atkins in the past, but I'm too active for it so I always ended up binging after a few weeks..It sucked. Switched to CKD which went better, still keep that clean..including the carb ups and still didn't lose weight. And I'd do like a perfect month and wouldn't even lose a pound or an inch. I'm not expecting an overnight miracle, but damn I'd at least like to lose something. A month without losing a pound or inch isn't normal.
I have hypothyroidism.. Actually I don't even have a thyroid, it was removed a few years ago and have been on Synthroid since. My temp in the morning is always ridiculous.. almost every morning it's 97.1. During the day I'm lucky if I get up to 98.0. Earlier this year I even tried fucking with the Synthroid by taking like 1 pill and 1/4th of another and all that did was make me Hyperthyroid (anxiety like symptoms) and still no weight loss. I recently did lose a few lbs but that's because I went on 50mcg of Cytomel instead of Synthroid. My temp even hit 99 once and I didn't even have any "hyperthyroid" symptoms. So now I'm doing both the 175mcg of Synthroid and 25mcg of Cytomel.. my temp is still low though. As for working out.. I'm not even lifting at the moment, haven't done it in about 5 months and 5 months ago I was a noob so not much to lose there and anything I had is probably gone. Cardio I do 30-60minutes 5 times a week. Diet.. 10-12x current weight for calories. 65-70%fat, 30-35%protein, 5% or less carbs from vegetables. Coconut oil since it's supposed to help thyroid and metabolism.(tryto anyway..that shit is nasty) Green tea extract..doesn't seem to do anything though. Multi vitamin+multimineral Food.. I keep simple and eat like the same things everyday. Mostly Chicken, Steak, Broccoli, Green Beans, Salads, Tuna, NPB. Oils for fat. Also I take all supplements 4hrs after the thyroid medication because I know some things can interact with the absorbtion of it. Ugh. Any other suggestions? I think my problem is that I don't have a thyroid. I'm thinking of just increasing the Cytomel dosage. Great fat burning drug from what I've read on google. ![]() |

I'm not going to even comment on your diet, especially since you have no thyroid. SYL or Mr.X can help you much better than I.
Hit the weight pile! Weight training can only help you. You will gain muscle, thus elevating your metabolism. Check out SYL's article on sprint training too. It may change the way you think about cardio. |

I'm on Cytomel though which is "muscle wasting". If I were to start lifting now.. it would just be contradicting and pointless. Already tried the Ckd with weight lifting thing and it did nothing.
Rather have the fat loss more than the muscle right now anyway. =/ |
