I'm starting to do mixed martial arts competitively and I need a really good work out routine. Something on days I can do opposite SYL's sprints. Can anyone recommend me anything? I also have a few questions. Are you better off training one part of the body every day or doing the whole body every other day? What kind of diet should I follow this up with, c-k-d, carnivore, peanut butter, recommendations? I also want to add as it stands now I'm doing a low cal, high protein diet to reduce in weight to get down to a specific weight class. Thanks oh mighty gods of fitness.

Okay...I am of the opinion that arms and shoulders can be trained twice a week without fear of overtraining,and that it is actually beneficial to do so.Therefore I might do something like this:
Mon:Legs...Contrary to what I just said,I also do deadlifts on this day.They actually work every muscle in your body,and if you don't believe me,try doing them with an injury of ANY kind.I just wanna do all my heavy work on Mon.when I'm rested from the weekend.I also do shrugs on this day as I do them with the bar sitting on my traps,rather than dangling from my wrists.So I do them while I have the bar loaded.Plus they're heavy. Wed.Arms and shoulders.I'll alternate tris and bis,then rear and side delts.I don't train front delts.Not to say you shouldn't,but I'd be lying if I said I did. Fri.My favorite!Chest and back.Nothing puts the swole on or makes me look as fearsome as this.I love it. Sat.Arms and shoulders. This is from the bodypart splits and routines that is in the SYL articles forum. http://www.mmsfitness.com/showthread.php?t=10523 I'd use this split.It would be okay to train arms once a week as you are already doing a lot,as is.

SYL, bro NOT to disagree with you, but isn't that a bit extreme for someone wanting to participate in Martial Arts? Also, by working your arms (separately) on two different days, in all reality 3 out of 4 straight days (W - F - S), he will OT his arms and on the Saturday routine, not get much out of his Shoulder workout because he will not be able to lift his arms. JMO. I schedule my arms as far away from my Chest and Back workout that I can, so that I get a good solid/even training regimine.
