groin injury?

Question -- can a muscle strain in the groin masquerade as testicle pain?

For the past couple of weeks I've been having what I thought was pain in my left testicle, but when I palpate the testicle I can't localize the tender spot. This pain presents as a sort of non-specific throbbing dull ache, like the aftermath of getting kicked in the nuts.

I saw my GP about it yesterday morning and he couldn't find anything, so he referred me to a urologist. Having my testicles inspected by another man was no fun at all. No lumps or irregularities were found, it doesn't seem to be a torsion, and doesn't seem to be an inflammation of the testicle or the epidydimus. A urine test showed no blood, which should rule out a kidney stone.

But now I'm beginning to wonder if I don't feel the throbbing as much from my inner thigh and groin as from my scrotum. It's at its worse when I sit in certain positions, sit on a hard surface, or when I'm trying to sleep. I can be fine one minute then bend the wrong way and there's that "kicked in the nuts" feeling again. I'm beginning to suspect that I'll be wasting the urologist's time.

I suspect a groin injury, too. The injury could be localized in the sense that it effects a nerve or major blood vessels that feeds the testes.
I have a couple questions.... is the testicle atrophied in any manner at all? Does the injury throb w/o you moving any limb or muscle? One more... is there any heat at the groin or testicle?

I get a phantom pain near near my pelvic floor all the time. But that's a sharp pain...

The testicle seems normal. My doctor palpated it and didn't find anything wrong, and wasn't able to induce any pain.

The injury did throb when I was at rest.

No heat.

After two weeks with no change, my situation has been improving over this weekend.

def pain in the testes...i pulled a groin muscle during a comp once and i swear i thought i ruptured my testicle...very painful and no easy way to alleviate the pain

Doesn't sound like an infection... cool. You have a lot of Lymph Nodes in the groin... if they are being constricted it will feel like a testicle squeeze... they are glands , too... just like the Testes... and they are connected.

i get that sometimes...do u say phantom pain because theres no cause?

MR DB, i would have guessed epididimitis or testicular torison, but u say they chcked that already... keep us informed goodluck
