Going on the "Anabolic Diet" any experienced feedback?

I've been looking at the diets around for bodybuilders like lo carb, etc. and done some experimenting of my own. It seems for me dropping carbs strategically with high protein is the thing (sorry Jay Cutler, that high carb thing made me the marshmellow I am today, )
Anyway, with careful and non-emotional consideration, I'm going to jump on this Anabolic Diet from Dr. Di Pasquale. It's nearly identical to BodyOpus except for a few things. I'll begin on 3/5 with a 12 days of 10g of carbs per day to initiate with high protein and a good deal of fat.:cry I'd like to know if anyone has had the intestinal fortitude to go for this diet and what were their experiences. From other sites it seems that it works like a charm.

As a special bonus, folks I'm going to post my own experiences weekly along with stats and you can judge for yourself. :bigsmile

I'm going with an updated version called the Metabolic Diet...not sure if it is the same as SYLs version but it does look reasonable once you get past the first week or so.

After the first 12 "initiation" days you carb up for two then back on low carb for five days again. I chose to start this monday so my carb days are on the weekends. That way my social life won't be completely devastated. I plan to use a lot of olive, canola, and flax oils- still cutting the fat off steaks and chicken so as to avoid the trans and saturated fats; a load of green veggies to aid digestion and possible straining on the pot. Cardio will be in the morning only (not too much) with two workout sessions per day. I expect to be wasted by the end of the week after the next, but the diet says to stick to it because the first part is the hardest. I will record stats & mood.

I wouldn't cut the fat off the steak.Tigers don't. Your body makes test out of cholestrol and you should be burning the fat for fuel anyway. You can get a cholestrol test at the drugstore. Your levels should go down. Mine did on this diet in spite of ingesting huge quantities of saturated fat. I would use hemp seed oil for efa's. If you use flaxseed, be sure to include some grapeseed in there for a balance of omega 3 and omega 6. I recommend psyllium seed husk in addition to salad for fiber. I ran this diet for prolly 6 months straight,gradually adding calories to bulk and stay lean. I worked my way up to 5lbs of New York Strip a day in my effort to be a scale model tiger.Ha ha. I never felt better in my life. This is before I had ever touched aas and I gained like 20 lbs in 6 months and I could still see my abs. I love it. It isn't as quick as my carnivore diet for cutting but it is effective and no doubt easier to follow, here's the link to my version just cuz there might be something interesting or useful to ya.

Not supposed to. Theoretically there are reasons you might, but practically it works better if you don't. I never did.Once you're in fat burning mode energy is not a problem and really neither is burning muscle for fuel. You have to rely on the weekend for the anabolic effect of insulin but gh release is best with low blood sugar.

Appreciate your response SYL...I started the diet on 3/5 and at this point I have already dropped an inch off my waist and my bodyweight has not significantly altered (-1.5lbs). I thought I would feel like crap but it's just the opposite. I feel great and yes, there are no pwo carbs on this thing- you don't need them. I knew the diet was working fine for me when I began to feel a bit warm all day long. I check for ketosis about every 2nd day or so and I have been in a mild state since 3/7...
Diet consists mainly of eggs-whole eggs not just the whites, cans and cans of tuna, slow roasted sirloin marinated with the fat left on (good stuff) smoked sausage, and ground beef patties with melted cheese. You MUST eat green veggies...salad, green beans, broccoli, etc. Your body needs the fiber and I learned that the hard way. Took a massive brick drop earlier today and I felt like I dropped my insides in the toilet with it. All I know is that I can never be *** dude!!!!:argh I will definitely be getting some psyllium asap.
I plan to stay on this diet for at least four months. When my bf gets down to under 10% I'll begin taking the aas to accentuate the fatloss/muscularity.

Again, thanks for the info and I will post my stats on this thing weekly beginning 3/12 since that will be exactly a week out.

I have done this exact diet several times n it works great, matter of fact I am on it right now,just make sure u stay strict on your 5 days,than carb up for 2. How is it going for ya.....

It's been goin' pretty good. Lost some more fat and I'm on my 2nd carb day. I can't say I miss the carbs, but I did indulge on some salty chips. I had a salt craving for the whole 12 days. I ended up eating a whole box of triscuits in one sitting. Tomorrow, it's back on it again. Look for my weekly post on my stats in this section.
