carbs post workout

guys im training at night at 9 so i finish lets say at 10 i take my whey protein 2 scoops but i dont know what to take as carbs cus i dont have dextrose here what other good fast carbs should i take is there any substitute like banana or apple or i dont know or i shouldent be taking carbs at this time at night what is perfect to do i sleep at 12 ,12;30

Yes I would still take a PWO drink ... If you are limited in stuff you can get , use grape juice ( like welches grape or whatever)...

I would go with a liquid carb .. Yes you should still take a post workout meal .. You are just taking it to replenish your glycogen ( that's depleted from your training) .. Doesn't matter that your training a 9 o clock at night ( you still want to incorporate your post workout drink ...

A banana is better than nothing if that is what you have I wouldn't use an apple, mix the banana in a blender with your shake.

Mix a yogurt into your shake. It has good combination of carbs and protein. Ideally you want quick metabolising carbs in your after workout shake and I use Carbomax which contains maltodextrin and I am happy with it.
