Default Diet for Mass?

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to see what you guys thought of the following diet for gaining mass. This is my normal diet day in and day out with minor changes everyday, substitute chicken, with fish, beef, etc.

I'm 28 currently 175 lbs 5' 10

Morning 7:30am

1 cup oatmeal

5 egg whites w/ fat free cheese, wheat germ, and flax seeds

1 slice whole wheat bread with non fat cream cheese

2 teaspoons peanut butter

Protein shake

10:15am

1 can albacore tuna in water

1 slice whole wheat bread

Isopure Mass protein shake

12:30 lunch

Either Chicken breast, or fish 12 oz or so, with steamed vegatables

3:00pm

Protein bar

5pm

1 can albacore tuna in water
1 tbls peanut butter

5:30 gym
after gym protein shake

7-8pm dinner
Chicken, or any type of fish, or extra lean beef w/ vegatables

sometimes another snack at 10pm
oatmeal or more egg whites.

IMO

you need to eat more, kinda looks like a lean mass diet, which never really works out that great. push your body find out how much calories you can consume before you vomit. when you know your limits you will add the most mass without yo yo ing up and down with ur calorie intake
is the amount you have stated for b/f realistic? i know some ppl have trouble eatin at that time.

but well done for putting this together, its well thought out

maybe a little more carbs would help like whole wheat pasta b4 gym with the tuna and maltodextrine or dextrose with ur protein shake after workout

I agree with Willy this is a great diet for adding LM and cutting, if mass is your ultimate goal, then don't hold back... Throw in as much protein as you can intake and quality fats, watch the carbs and eat your ass off. Aim for at least 3,000 cals a day.

Yah that is what I eat for breakfast everyday. I just recently started this routine about 1 1/2 weeks ago so it's still early. I don't seem to have a problem with shoving down food, although sometimes I feel like by stomach is going to explode. Great advise on the whole wheat pasta I've been meaning to get some. I also try to throw in some fruits every now and then. I guess I'm just a little paranoid with gaining fat. Before starting this diet I was on a low Carb diet and went from a ugly 190 to about mid 160's. I guess I'm just a bit frightened about looking like that again but have finally excepted that I need to eat in order to gain mass.

What else would you guys suggest to throw in my diet to up my carbs?

How much carbs should I be looking at on a daily basis. I know my protein intake is a lot. I did a rough calculation with the list i posted and it's around 4k calories, maybe a little bit less. Just the Isopure mass gets me 600 calories and 80grams of carbs.

How often do you work out, id recommend for lean mass eating 3500-3700 cals on workout days and 3000-3200 on days off. ur fear of fat may be your downfall in the quest for mass
im eating 6000cals a day, 1000 of which is from burgers. fat is my friend, it helps with strength and makes me feel good on the scales. when i want to lose it i know how

I work out 5 days a week, for about 1-1:30 hours depending on body part.
Yah I love throwing in burgers for dinner. I get extra lean beef 96% 4% and eat 1 burger with bun and 2 with lettuce, that's about 1k calories.

I guess my main goal is to gain about 15 pounds while on my cycle, and from what I read from you guys the key ingrediant is EAT, EAT, and EAT some more as one person said.

5 days a week.
my theory, ur burning around 2500 cals just from getting up and being awake all day. if ur working out intensly your burning anywhere from 500-1000 cals
the more + cals you have at the end of the day the more your weight will be up
as your only taking 2 days off ur cals need to be high.

whilst on cycle I think you should really go for it, keep adding 200 cals until you cant, then stick at that. if u put fat on then you know how to lose it after pct
