Default Quick question about Calories

Hi guys,

I'm going to be running another bulking cycle in the new year and during my recovery period I want to try and clean up my diet. In the past even though i've seen some good gains i've realised that i've been quite sloppy in regards to adding in extra calories during a bulk, as well as how many I eat on off days.

Basically, I just want to get a general consensus regarding the following:

1) When adding in extra calories during a bulk to ensure sufficient weight gain (or when you're starting out and need the calorie boost after eating at maintenance) what is the general rule of the thumb? Add calories EVERY day, including NON-training days, or just one or the other? Or add calories to training days one week, then non-training days the next? FYI, I workout 4-5 times per week.

2) What is the general rule of the thumb in regards to eating on NON-training days? In the past i've kept my calorie intake the same as training days, but I have less carbs and more fats. I also make up the lost protien from my PWO shake with another meal. Is this cool, or should I have less calories overall?

FYI, I workout 4-5 times per week.yes u need to add ur calories to everyday including non-training days........u should be trying to eat correctly 24/7 365 days a year because it is consistancy that makes the difference!!

IMO ur diet should not change on non training days...unless uare preparing for a contest......within a few weeks from contest......on ur non-training days u are recovering from yesterdays workout.....so u need jus as many calories.....an all the nutrients/good fats/carbs.....and if not more protein.....
