Ultimately, your goal should be to be able to increase your LBM so you can increase your maintenance calories. I can maintain (no fat gain) at ~2200 calories/day; every year, I try to increase that number by 100. Nothing like being able to eat more to keep you motivated!

13-14%.

I bumped them up a bit more, and reached a high of 15% bodyfat (using calipers, so this is subq bodyfat). Now I'm cutting back down again, with an average of 1700 cals/day. I have 2 days at 2200, 2 days at 1700, and 3 days at 1400.

I've started training to compete in Olympic weightlifting, so I merely have weight goals right now. I'd been "bulking" for a Figure comp, but I decided to pass on Figure for a little while so I can focus on OL; turns out you really can't do both.

So, I'm heading back down to my maintenance weight of 145 lbs, and may drop to 142 lbs if I'm feeling good at 145. I'm debating between competing in the 63k or 69k classes, so 142-145 will put me somewhere in the middle. I'll probably be about 11-12% in that weight range. I'm finding it's easier as I get older to stay leaner (I'm 33); I think it's actually harder when you're younger and have more estrogen.

yeah - thats what ive been noticing; women in their 30's+ at the gym seem a lot more solid than younger women, even after being pregnant- which is amazing

jj, you're my hero. OL is the sport to end all sports. I hope you'll keep us up to date on your success. Figure and OL are entirely different instruments...like violin and tuba. My fingers are crossed and locked in white-knuckle concentration---I 'm betting on jj the olympic lifter!

Thanks Tarzana! You should have seen the training program mess I came up with to attempt to combine the two! I kept thinking "I'm gonna kill myself with this workout!".

It will be nice to compete in a sport with specific, non-subjective goals.
