Hi, I'm new on the scene. As of this Monday I will be starting the CKD diet to finally shed some pounds. I have been exercising on and off for the past two years (more on than off) yet I have managed to lose about 10-15kg in weight. However I have not been monitoring this very strictly. I am 21 years old, at 5"2 and weigh 154lb and would like to lose a whopping 30lbs! I was recommended to come and join this forum as I know I will be able to get great advise from here. I am currently still trying to finish devising an eating plan, as it is difficult considering I have never had to do that, but I am getting help from Arkan my lovely bf. This is also a goal for me to achieve as this summer I want to wear a bikini for the first time ever on a beach!!! I plan to do this around mid-July time. So I have my work cut out for me! I should have the diet plan finished tomorrow, so I will post the plan tomorrow and see what people think. I really do need advise! My only request is could anybody possibly kindly post details of their CKD plan and exercise regime as that would help me.

Welcome! I personally don't follow a CKD diet, and my current lifting program focuses on Olympic weightlifting, so I'm not going to post either. I just wanted to welcome you to the board and look forward to reading your posts.

Welcome Shofny. I dont follow CKD diet either and will be looking for a new training routine myself, as I am recovering from a broken wrist...but there are plenty of helpful and friendly people here....and again welcome.

Welcome shofny...glad you're here. Yep...we met Arkan the other day and told him to hook you up with us. You sound really excited about getting started--that's great. Attitude is the key to just about everything, huh!

Hey shofny... welcome aboard!! Great goals you have set.. now let's get you on your way to obtaining them!!

I am a HUGE fan of CKD!! i usually employ that diet when i cut down! the way i use the ckd is a bit lighter than the hardcore Mcdonald fans.. i don't tend to hit ketosis and don't use the sticks to monitor where i am, but listen more to my body and the mirror.. i more or less just cycle my carbs without focusing on the keto aspect.. my favorite example is #1

for example.. here are a few plans:

1) 2 down, 1 up (2 days low carb ~under 100gs and 1 carb up ~400 carbs)
2) 3 down, 1 up
3) 5 down, 2 up

i have tried ALL the above methods..

for the best fat loss, #3 works the best.. you can actually hit ketosis here and then recarb for 2 days which is very necessary!!! for fat loss and muscle maintance, #1 works very well.. you get lean without sacrificing muscle... (this is my favorite diet plan) it is the easiest to stay on and you see results!


Hope that kinda explains it a bit for you... do some research on Lyle McDonald who is the CKD guru... or even dan duchaine touched a lot on cycling carbs..

but get your diets posted and hopefully we can all help more...

Thank you for welcoming me so nicely. It's good to know that I can get motivation from people who know what they are on about, other than Arkan of course! But I guess I need a females point of view. I started my diet today. I woke up early to go to the gym and do a 20min cardio workout. Then I went home to have my breakfast. Below is an attachment of the meals I am eating for the day. -xx-



The diet plan was worked out from using Mr.X's CKD Worksheet. I will post up following days once they are finished.
I will be exercising again in the afternoon doing weights and so will have a PW shake. It doesn't help that its my boyfriends birthday today and his mother is baking him a cake!!!!! But I will stay strong and focus on my new body that I want!

The diet looks good... me personally i could not function on 20gs of carbs a day... for my low days, under 100 is pushing it lol... i have however for contest prep, stayed at 50gs of carbs for my down days...

i do wish you the best of luck!! what are you doing for your carb up days?? and how long are you down??

also, you are NOT eating nearly enough protein!!! When i diet down, i eat my bodyweight in protein!!! I also do not consume as much fat either... My ratios are a bit different than yours.. i have found for my body, high protein, moderate fats and low carbs get the sick results i need to be ripped.. All bodies react differently, but i am not a strong advocate of a high fat diet.. too much oils if you ask me.. but that is just my $.02

But again, i know my body really well which comes from years of trial and error.. so give it a try and see how it goes.. but still, please up your protein!! Especially if you want to keep on muscle!!!

MR. X.. do you agree with her ratios??? i am curious as to your take and why so little protein and such high fat??? I mean i could handle the higher fat, but at least when combined with high protein... but i don't think i have ever had over 100gs of fat per day when dieting... thanks babe!!

The truth is, if you want to lose fat and get lean and mean fast, your gonna need gear,. AKA steroids. Don;t get me wrong, I am not promoting the use of roids, but after mush research, you are a prime canidate to get on the band wagon.
And their are some real mild and safe A/s for you to try. The first cyle should be the best cycle and you can put on the most muscle as possible.(and lose fat)
or forget this post and go natural. You are young enough to do so.
