Alright girls, Tarzana's thread about getting old made me think of this. Some of you might remember my old weightlifting professor. Best teacher I've ever had in my life, waiting for his book to come out.


Drug companies have one dosage. My 120lb 85 year old grandmother will get the same dose as me (23 years old 215lbs). Premerin at its lowest dosage is 1mg (not actual but for arguement). At .25mg premerin was effective for 65% of women taking it. At 1mg it was effective for 78% of women. However with the extra dosage comes side effects. The company would rather have a higher effective rate than deal with avoidable sides (cancer in this case). If any of you women reach the "change of life" try cutting your pills in half. Chances are you will still have results with no sides.

All drugs are manufactured this way. With the extra medication in our system comes all the unwanted side effects. All I ask is just try it, if it doesn't work for you then you can listen to your doctor, just try it.

It has been my experience that the effects of aging are far more pleasant than the lethal effects of the many drugs that my former doctor prescribed for me. I can FEEL again, sans drugs.

My hormonal drugs were coated. I was advised not to "cut" them. Easy solution--I quit them.

So true, Tarzana. your ENTIRE life is a journey, you have to enjoy and accept it. A long life is a gift to be recognized and appreciated.
