when to eat protein after insulin shot

Just wanted to clear this up. i've been using humilin R and have been taking both celltech and protein shake (not fat) within like 20 mins of the shot. should i not be doing this? should i just be taking in the carbs (cell-tech) and then not eat anything for an hr., then take in the protein shake?

get your nessasary carbs in and with humalin you have plenty of time..let the cells get filled with the cell-tech (its perfect by the way due to the added creatine and glutamine)..rememeber use isolate and try to ingest 100 grams of protein during the 4 hours post humalin shot..i do 2 shakes post crab load after slin each with right at 42-58 grams of whey isolate..the first is ingested and mixed with water (the 42 grammer) and 30-45 minutes later mixed with skim milk thus the greater protein intake in the second shake..wait another 30-45 and have a clean decent meal high in milk and egg pro or beef..

I'm a big believer in doing slin with no carbs. I workout MWF and on those days I take Humalog Post workout with a whey isolate shake containing 100g protein and 50g glutamine. Then in the afternoon I do another shot of Humalog and the same shake. M-F I eat no carbs. Only high protein and moderate fat. Sat I overload on carbs, and Sun I keep them moderate.

Humalog may be slower acting, but humalin-R is free for the taking, so no scripts required. Not every insulin is created equal nor do the different version act as quickly or slowly. Spook is correct. Some people need more carbs after a slin injection than others (the general rule remains 10g of simple carbs, i.e. dextrose, per iu of slin that you shoot), but you can adjust the amount once you have some experience. Staying away from carbs altogether is a risky proposition, however. Going into hypoglycemic shock is potentially lethal and nothing to joke about. BTW Humalog is faster acting than R. Actually it is quickest acting form of slin available, typically requiring ingestion of carbs about 15 minutes or so after the shot.
