What does added insulin do?

Forgive my ignorance but i keep seeing reference made to added insulin. I am familiar with insulin's role in glycolosis but is there any added bonuses?

There are afew I heard using 'slin, and gaining lean mass from it.. 2iu post-workout with 50g protein/70g dextrose, then a meal an hour or less later with at least 40g protein, and 60g carbs.. Those are just rough figures I saw someone put out, it differs from person to person..

a great, but somewhat tricky supplement to master.

It is used primarily to bulk up. Most users inject anywhere from 5-15iu post workout and take in the "golden rule" of 10g of simple carbs per iu (usually dextrose), along with Xg of whey protein (best is isolate).

We all know that for immediately after training is when we are glycogen depleted (in the muscle group trained) and the fastest way to recovery is to shuttle glcogen, amino acids, etc., into the muscle cells. Insulin does exactly that. It is nicknamed the "storage hormone." The thing is, is that you don't want too many carbs (spillover into fat storage)or too much fat intake prior/post slin inject, as it will all be stored as ugly body fat.

Now, there are different types of insulin, but we most commonly use either humalog (fastest acting, spikes within 60-90 minutes) or humulin-R (which has a couple peaks).

I prefer humalog post workout or during an arm workout with a carb beverage on hand (silly pumps that hurt <img src="http://www.massmonsters.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif" alt="Eek" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->). It will also help store creatine much better/faster. This is why manufacturers of the 2nd/3rd generation creatine products put 75g of dextrose in the serving. To naturally spike your insulin.

And the best use of it is when the great GH is being used. Without insulin, growth hormone use for gaining size is much less. Gotta have the slin for GH to make ya big. Otherwise, GH really just cuts bodyfat and makes the old look younger <img src="http://www.massmonsters.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

In the U.S. you can get humulin OTC at the pharm without a script, but for humalog you need a script.

Is humulin worth persuing for the el natural? If so what are some good guide lines to go by when taking?

is just about worthless without gear guys.

And most users don't get hard/cut on slin. Usually a bit puffy.
