I think know insulin is a hormone produced in the petuitary gland to move nutrients throughout the body.

What I'm not sure about is the following questions.

1. What is insulin resistance?

2. What is insulin sensitive?

3. why do we strive to eat low glycemic carb food?

4. If we don't want our insulin to spike, why does everyone say to eat or drink a high glycemic post workout drink?

5. Why do I hear about bodybuilder taking insulin?

6. Is there a link to this info that I should know about?

people that have an "insulin resistant" body so to speak do not produce insulin in the right amounts and do not get the proper blood glucose fluctuations - this goes hand in hand with sensitivity...if you're insulin resistant you're probably insulin insensitive meaning you need a lot of insulin to get that blood sugar level down which usually leads to higher and faster fat gain


3. why do we strive to eat low glycemic carb food?
so you don't spike blood sugar as fast (especially when dealing w/ low-gi high fiber) and thus lower the possible amounts of fat gain from carb intake

4. If we don't want our insulin to spike, why does everyone say to eat or drink a high glycemic post workout drink?
that's the only time you actually do want to spike insulin; in order to open muscle cells for fast glycogen transport- it creates and immidiate anabolic effect in the cell...somewhat like starvation and high-level refeeds (carbups) on the ckd

5. Why do I hear about bodybuilder taking insulin?
look at #4, insulin is very anabolic just like post workout anabolism, you can sythesize the effect w/ insulin which is the most anabolic hormone on the market...I wouldn't recommend it

6. Is there a link to this info that I should know about?
all this stuff is underground, everyone writes their own 2cents on the topic...a while back I wrote MKD and now I think of taking it off the market - it's too radical...but it does give many results

Thanks X-man. My understanding is better now. Theres no way I'd even concider using insulin injections. That seems pretty wild to me. I was just curious how it all fit together. I understand better now.
