IGF (or MGF) cycle length

I have heard different protocols for use of IGF and MGF. Usually it looks like x weeks on alternating with x weeks off. Can anyone explain why? Why is it important to periodically go off IGF? What are the risks or downsides of staying on for longer than x weeks? How does cycling off alleviate those risks?

if you stay on IGF-1 for too long, you can have all the bad sides, like bloated gut and even cell mutation from IGF-1 abuse...

MGF is an IGF derivative, IGF-1Ec, so the same issues apply...

It my understanding that IGF receptors downregulate after a certain amount of exposure. After that point, IGF will cease to have an effect until your receptors clean themselves. 4 weeks of ed usage is the consensus before downregulation.

I've been experimenting with different protocols. Currently, I've been using 50-100mcg eod pinning pwo in the muscle just worked bilaterally. It been working okay, not great. But, going the eod or e3d is supposed to prevent downregulation. I can't tell.

I've recently read about a new protocol that I'm going to try. 75-100mcg/ed two hours before bed for fat loss. No carbs post injection.

Alot of IGF receptors are in the GI tracts, which can cause gut growth according to internet legend. I am still waiting to see.
