Can HGH cause heart palpitations?

Guys,

I have been running GH (4iu's) in the morning and have noticed I am getting heart palpitations through out the day while taking it. Its almost like my heart will skip a beat or beat a little faster every so often. I have also started taking caffeine again.

Is this a common side effect and has anyone else experienced this?

I cant say i have ever heard of that. When did you start having caffeine again?

I stopped taking the GH and caffeine. I am scheduled for the doctors tomorrow to take a look at my heart, just to be safe.

Within in 2 days of being off the GH and caffeine the palpitations stopped. I am going to try just taking the caffeine today and see if it causes it. Strange thing is I have always taken caffeine and never experienced anything like this. Could it possibly be a combination of the 2?

Do you/have you ever had issues with anxiety?

I have, I still do get anxious about certain things...and my job doesnt help. Hi-Tech IT sales. When i get anxious I actually get sharp chest pains, this is more of my heart skipping a beat or almost pausing then trying to catch up. It only last for a second and then its gone. Very strange.

hgh literally causes growth, including the heart and intestines. Along with anxiety, I would not doubt this to be something to look more into...

It is possible you are getting a trigger effect from it that is not lasting long enough to cause an actual panic attack or the symptoms of it. It could just cause an irregular heartbeat. This isn't one of the muscles I would risk anything on... I would check in with the doc on this one.

So I went to the Cardiologist today and here was the outcome of the visit.

EKG was normal

Echo Cardiogram was normal...he did notice some thickening of the left wall on my heart but said that was common in athletes/bodybuilders. He did ask me to not train so heavy and no roid use .

He also drew blood and is testing me for Thyroid issues. He seems to think the GH was triggering my Thyroid in a funny way and it was causing my heart palpitations.

From the anxiety standpoint he did say it might be a good thing for me to try out Zoloft of something along those lines...I might try it.

Thanks for the insight guys I will let you know the results of my Thyroid test when I get them.
