I am probably pretty typical here: 35 year old guy recently divorced from 10 year relationship. I have always been pretty big, and people have always told me "you should work out and get really big."

Over the course of my 10 or so years, my weight went up and down several times, as low as 220 and as high as 310. I am currently primarily doing cardio, running 15+ miles on the treadmill a week, doing another couple hours on the elliptical, and inline skating to drop my body fat as low as possible before I do anything. I have a good training buddy at the gym whom I have essentially made a pact with for any first cycle, which should be by December, and he seems to be very knowledgeable, so most likely it should be a good experience.

What brought me to these boards was research on if some of the online 'pharmacies' were legit or not. It has always been weird to me that so many people are so obviously juicing and I have to order off to some distant land to get my gear, but if that's what it takes to play with the big kids then so be it.

Thanks all. For what it's worth, I just signed up for a personal trainer once a week and will be hitting the weights hard. One of the trainers (who I wouldn't need yet anyway) is most definitely anabolic inspired, so I would possilby have some local guidance when my time is right.

Even Tiger Woods has a swing coach!

Welcome. I would bet that you can probably acheive your goals naturaly.
You stated that you have been up over 300 lbs. and as low as 220. I would think that with the right diet and training you can build your body the way you want it pretty easy.

Howdy all!

Well, I have been in now ... four months or so .

When I started strength training (4/24/08) with a trainer 4x week I was 251 lbs, 40" waist, 15.75" right bicep, 51.5" shoulders. I could probably bench 145..? I don't know I never maxed, not my goal.

After 1 month, I had 56" shoulders, 39" waste, 17 Inch Bicep. 245 lbs.


After 4 months, I have never ever felt or looked better in my entire life. Now, I am 235, 34" waist, biceps around 18", bench 250 (in HS I could never bench more than like 165!). So ... so much for lifting weights before doing anabolics ...

My goal weight is now 220 ... I did the BodPod after my first month and it reported my BF% at 28.5% ... I was REALLY retaining a lot of water when I did it... When I started I was in excess of 38.5% ... and my goal is still somewhere around 15%. Based upon my measurements, etc, though I imagine I am somewhere around 20% right now. Will report back if interested and also report on any and all and how much I spent doing it for those also interested.
