Leg Press vs Squats

No slam to ya bro....but you're 21, and of course squats and deads are the best...until you get a little older and your knees start to wear and back starts acting up, then it's time to start finding other ways.....Also, squatting 530 ass to ground is great when you're 21, but #1 bodybuilders don't need to go ass to ground..just need to break paralell....#2 we don't get rewarded for strength either...we get the prize for looks and size. #3 "strengthening muscle fibers what?" Training for stregth and training for size is two completely different games. At one point I squatted 600 ass to ground with no belt and no wraps....as I get more serious about bodybuilding I realize that is unrealistic training for me. Like I said...I'm not trying to slam you....just want you to better understand the game we're in, hope you understand young one..LOL/jk Take care.

been squating since you were say 5 .haa..not to bust on ya bro but every angle even the tru-squat machine that no one can find these days..torn mcl, 2 acl's..knees been drained 4 times on the left and 5 on the right..cant count the mri's or scopes thats been done..ive got over 11 years on ya in age.no excuse and ive always used deca for joint **** only..osteo bi-flex and other gluco is kinda bunk when it comes to strains and internal damage..all my injuries have come from ball or or cycle accidents..knees are just done..you have to know when to stop..i do..didnt with the trenbolone but my caps its time..if your going ass to the floor one slip and your knee goes..unless your an olympic lifter there is no reason to go below parallel where the top of the quads meet even with the floor..regardless of what youve heard or what strength coaches has said..now if you want strength then do what ya gotta..building muscle by going so deep isnt going to incoorperate more muscle fibers..see me in 10 years bro squattin like that..not only will your back be gone but as well your tendons..but like i tell most..atleast your squatin..this just allows me to ghet back to my best movement witch is the dead and sl..with l pressing no lower back fatigue and thus means lower back is ready or work..

..that the old knees don't last forever. Haven't been able to do any heavy squats in a couple of years. It sucks!!!!! Ever since ACL surgery in 2001 things haven't been the same. The ACL is great, but the MCL was stretched and never properly healed so there is a little give in the damn thing. I need to get it fixed, but can't spend that much time down with the twins on the way.

if it was anyone else id try to give lifting advice but bro you know whats what my knees are crap too, dead lifts are history most of the time but i did buy some time taping them. get some co-ban tape wrapup with a ace then co-ban. i slip a knee sleeve over them sounds like a pain but helped me out.. good luck bro .hey hear your under 300 now ,dam you must have to grab a tree now in wind storms ..props to the KILLA!!

yeah bros ive tried it all..looking to get the right scoped soon..still swells as usual after every squat w/o..quads are big enough..just dont want to lose size..that happens they better get me a titanium knee ready

I don't really squat too much anymore. I seem to strain my back too often which prevents me from training for some time. I will do smith machine squats, but I get a good workout with presses aswell. I just make sure to go very deep.

You could work in Heavy Good Mornings. We do a lot of variations. Go to right above parallel with knees slightly bent, big belly, shoulder blades together, tight, and drive back with your head. We do them with a regular Bar, Safety Squat Bar, Bent Bar, and Cambered Bar all kinds of variations. These are a good mass builder even if you 'can' squat. We usually work up to a max 3 and then a max 5.

yeah ive done the old gm's..i see fit better to do stiff legged deads though..more of a compound move..presses followed by heavy sld's seems to have me set..
