I do 25g of carbs 45minutes prior that includes a stack of vitamins etc, 15 minutes prior to workout I take 30 grams of whey isolate. While doing my post-workout cardio I sip on 40g whey and 80g dextrose(ala, etc) for about 20 minutes. Then an hour later I consume another solid food meal about an hour later 80g of carbs around 70g protein.
I don't take anything while lifting as I've heard it may inhibit growth hormone release due to high insulin levels. --- 8D~ |

i agree with hermiti on the gh levels when u eat while training... read that before quite a few times. What i personally do is chug down arnd 30-40g of protein 30-45mins before a workout. coz i read some place else that during the workout protein uptake is increased by 2.5 times which causes more lean muscle growth.. and that a mixture of protein and carb will coz more fat than muscle. BASICALLY... there are a million different theories and a million diff combinations of how and when and how much u gotta eat... just go with what works for you... and as long as u get enuff of everything throughout the course of the day.. u should be doing fine... that's just my take on things though..

oh i also down arnd 40g of protein and 60g of carbs post workout.. and then go for a full meal 2-3hrs after that..
the rest of the day just goes on as usual..full well balanced meals |

I can see eating a little something 45minutes before I worked out but I wouldn't eat anything during. I always load up after though. Will your body even digest food when you are training?? I didn't think it would....

Everytime you eat, your body kind of goes into a mini shock. Blood is channeled to the core of the body to aid in digestion. When you work out you increase blood supply to the extremeties. Anytime you have a large demand from both areas you have a decrease in supply for either or both. To me, eating lots well before the gym and lots well after ensures that blood flow is where it is needed, and the blood is rich in nutrients. Besides that, if you eat immedietly after training and pull blood away from the muscles, it takes longer for bi-products to be taken away from the muscles, causing further and more harmful muscle damage. Just my opinion though.

from what i know your body wouldn't do a very good job digesting a heavy meal while u work out... that's the kinda shit which causes u to puke.. but a light meal shouldn't be an issue...
