Default Best way to ease legs back in?

I am currently healing a back injury, and I dont plan on working legs hard via squats/deads/L-press for at least another month, but what would be the smartest way of easing back into them? Very low weight squats, or low weight of leg press, etc.?

if its a back injury, i would suggest leaving out any compound exercises like squats and deads because they will force you to use your back. try doing isolation exercise like leg extensions and curls until your back is properly healed.

yup.. i totally agree with sacklunch... it isnt worth aggravating a back injury... those things are nasty... the best thing you can do is let it heal thoroughly...

Sack lunch nailed it...Leg extensions,leg curls,and seated calf raises.Do not put any pressure on your spine.

I am being misunderstood. I have been doing exactly what was recommended here (with the addition of donkey calf raises) and have given my back 4 weeks rest so far and I plan on another 6 weeks minimum. My question was, when I reach the point of being fully healed, which method/exercise would be best to start up with? I have seen a doctor, got x-rays (everything ok), and am taking a Rx anti-inflammatory. Doctor said give it 6-8 weeks, I am giving it 10 weeks.

honestly i would go with maybe some ball squats with dumbells to just easily work your way into it

Spinning will build great leg strength endurance and lung endurance and will also kick start those legs with minimal stress on the back.

Your legs will explode - mine did when I first got back into heavy training some 5 years back - my legs blew up from spinning and mtn biking - but i also did high rep (50 reps) sets of leg press (600-800 lb range).

easy leg presses thai. Still stay away from the free squats. If you are confinate about your back then yes smith machine light squats. That will get you back into it. Use that belt!!
