Default Workout Time

Do you vary your workout time depending on what your goals are? For instance, working out in the AM on an empty stomach when cutting? Just curious who does what around here. I hate working out in the AM, but I think it may be the best option for me so that the majority of protein intake can occur after the workout. Also, I tend get all of my meals in for the rest of the day if I get up ass early to train.

i usually just do it when i have the time...which usually ends up in the afternoon...now i now that doing cardio in the am is better for cutting weight....changes your whole day for the better...so i would suppose that lifting would have a slight benefit in the morning as well, other than just waking you up and making you feel better....
i don't know...i guess i just never was "hardcore" enough to get up at 5 am everyday and lift....lol

Personally i dont think it makes that much difference. train when you feel the best. i feel the best about 8 at night....my poundages are MUCH better later in the day with a 4 or 5 meals in me, if you feel strong in the morning by all means do it. but its not for me. cardio on the other hand...i always do a.m. on an empty stomach.-DOC

I recently had to switch my workouts from p.m. to a.m., due to my job, and am struggling bigtime with it. I, like Doc, feel weaker in the morning compared to the evening. However, there are also others on this board that swear by the morning workouts. I guess whatever feels the best for you is the path you should take.

i do both AM workouts and late PM workouts.

AM- 6:30-8:00
pm- 8:30

all AM workouts are freeweight,compound movements, and then the PM workouts are the same muscle group with all cable work. feel great just started doing that

I have gone by the hour rule, but it made me pretty lazy in the gym. Too me I have great results with training for long periods of time. 2 hour plus sometimes!
