Just wondering what you guys think of training a certain muscle group twice a week... I am on week 2 of my 10 week cycle... heres my split
Sunday(shoot)- shoulders Monday-Legs Tuesday-Chest Wed- off Thursday(shoot)- back Friday- Chest Sat-arms I just dont want to over train ect ect... This first week i took friday off because my chest was still sore from tues... As a role of thumb is it ok to say once your not sore anymore its ok to hit that body part for a second time during the week? depending on your goals and how you want to change up routines. I don't think I have stuck with a single routine for more than 6 weeks but have been known to do something different after only a week depending on how I felt. You can do varying routines like 3 days per week (Mon, Wed, Fri) or 4 days on and 2 days off, or 3 days on and 1 day off. You can do several routines with predominantly dumbbell work and then do several routines with mostly barbell work. The sky is the limit and its good because you don't want to let your muscles adapt if you want them to grow.

Keep in mind as well Volume and Intensity are directly replated, as intensity is increased volume must decrease and vice versa.
Thus also applies directly to the frequency, one can train a bodypart with little to mod intensity numerous times a week as long as the intensity and volume are kept in serious check each workout. Versus training a bodypart with maximum intensity and or with HIGH volume of course not only the bodypart but also ones body as a whole and CNS are going to need much longer to recuperate. Its really an individual thing, and finding which methods works best for YOU and dialing it in will lead you to some serious gains. |
