I'll have to check out the AST routine, and yes, STK had a tough routine as well. My routines vary every 4-8 weeks depending on how I feel or whether I'm plateauing. I try to plan my routines as best as I can, but might change after 2 weeks or even change a single day of exercise due to feeling differently in the course. My routines will vary from as heavy as I can go for lower reps to high volume. I may use Poliquin's Principles, West Side, or endurance training. I have to throw my body curves as often as I can so I hit as few of plateaus as possible. I also get sick of hearing everyone say that you only grow heavy/low rep routines only but never on high volume/high rep routines. That is total bullshit. If you don't switch to a high volume routine every once in a while you are holding your own body back. Ask Citruside about how his chest is growing with a high volume routine.

Every bodypart gets treated once during the week. Every third week I may do a light week and theŽn again heavy for three weeks.
I do several light , moderate and heavy cycles during the year and always 1-3 weeks of rest in between whole cycle. Does wonders and is simple as anything. The gym (in the work) has very limited equipment so i can`t use too many movements. That`s it , folks! "cigar?" -"I know" - naked gun 331/3

I agree that one can grow off of any training routine. Intensity is the key.
Although I think people are such big proponents of heavy weight b/c it forces them to be intense. Intensity is a learned aspect of training. Learning how to push through your comfort zone consistently is not easy. Heavy weights are not the be all end all but I do prefer them. I also am not a fan of volume style workouts. But that is me. I fully beleive in funtional training. ALthough this is not the site for that, being a bodybuilding site. I train hard, heavy brief and intense. I do funtional exercises and lift alot of odd objects. I have grown faster in the last 6 months training this way than I did any other.
