Low back hurts bad

I did a intense leg workout yesterday and I only did heavy leg presses, very light hack squats leg extensions and leg curls. Didn't start to hurt until about 3 hours after I was done. Has this happened to anyone on here. Was thinking if it doesnt get better I might need to see a doctor on monday. SHould I take ibuprofen or something? I guess I am trying to see the best case scenario here.

Yeah, I did a leg press one day, I think about 6+6 plates (which was a lot for me) and ended up having weird back pains. They were sharp pains and they really haven't gone away...albeit the intensity died down. I think I get these doing deadlifts too...feels like a sharp and achy pain =/. One of the other guys I knew that deadlifted got this too.

I was doing 8 plates per side and that was one less per side than last week. I am wondering if the hack squats is the culprit. I went way down on each rep for 20 reps sets. Way below parallel. Anyhow it still hurts but not nearly as bad as yesterday. Started taking alieve and seems to be much better. I am just hoping it is muscular. Going to start a liver gallbladder flush tomorrow. First will clean the colon out over the next 4 days. I am sure this will help the low back pain as well. Will be interesting to see how much CRAP is inside of me. LOL.

Your lower back hurts because you curled your pelvis forward at the bottom of your leg press in an attempt to go "lower".It will get better twice as fast if you rub Arnica gel(available at GNC) on it a few times a day.Next time keep your back and butt tight against the seat.

Yep I think it is time for me to lower the weight and shoot for more reps and better form. Man my back feels SOOOO much better today. Really had a scare there for a while. In fact my back feels normal now. I couldnt believe how much pain I was in for a while. Man oh man it was bad. Now I wish my neck would get better. I think I slept different because of my back pain and got a kink in my neck. Feels better though so I won't worry. Anyhow going to start the gallbladder/liver/colon flush tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Chip, do what u just started to plus DON'T FORGET THE COREWORK! So many times one has back problems the real cause lies on the opposite side. Abs , Abs, Abs!

I agree...and was about to ask what he was doing to prevent back problems.

I train my back to be strong in all directions...arched or not. Most of the body's athletic movements require you to be strong with a rounded back...not arched.

The leg press shouldn't hurt your back in that way. You have a weakness that needs to be addressed.

I have been doing abs 2-3 times per week on the crunch bench. I think I will start adding the weighted ab machine shortly to add some strength in the abs. Would you suggest going heavy enough to be able to only get out about 10 reps on those?

He did have a rounded back and bringing his knees close to his chest in that position pulled on his sacrum.It doesn't matter how strong your abs are,don't perform leg presses with your pelvis curled forward.My advice.
