Pulled something in arm a few months ago..Anyone know what it is?

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what it could be or has done anything like this..

I'm not even sure how or when I did it. I think I got it doing seated tricep extensions. Now I get a weird pull type feeling when I move or lift my arm in certain positions. I feel it mostly in my tricep. If I straighten my arm out to the side/palms up..I can even feel a pull going down my forearm and sometimes a light feeling in the middle of my hand. I have to really concentrate to even notice it in my hand though, and its not often I feel it that far down.

I tried doing the circuit machines today just to see if I could lift again and I felt it even worse trying to do those. And I was using really low weights. So far the only excercise I can do that doesn't effect it is bicep curls. I think basically I can't do any position higher than that without feeling anything.

Yeah I know.. go to a doctor. Kind of hard for me because of insurance issues. I was hoping it would go away on its own. But its been like 3 months and I've hardly done anything with that arm.

ask one of the trainers at the gym....its obviously a tricep problem because the position you are describing is a position in which the tri's are stretched pretty far, so you might have slightly torn something

i would assume since u feel pain down to ur hand that its a pulled tendon or ligament

Thanks. That helped. I did some Google searches and it's got to be some kind of pulled tendon. I was talking to someone today about it who has tendonitis and rotator cuff problems, but I don't think what I got is that bad. My only symptoms are the slight sharp pain when I lift my arm over my head and lift things off shelves. They said if it is that the only thing doctors/orthos do for it anyway is give anti inflammatories, physical therapy and tell you to ice it.

It's not bruised but I think it is swollen. It does look slightly different than my other arm. I have more fat than muscle there now so it's kind of hard to tell anyway.
