in a rut

ive been in a rut havent really worked out sence august. and i have no disire too workout at all. i need to get back but i dont really feel like it. please motivate me

I've gone through that before. You'd better get your butt into the gym before Lacy starts lifting more than you.

what gonna suck is i know im gonna be sore sence its been so long...and the squats are gonna kill me. on the 3rd day it hurs the worst sitting down is the worst and walking down stairs kills too

I hit that same wall at the end of january, and didn't lift till a few months ago...........almost 7 months out of the gym. The first few weeks were sooo hard to get back into making a habbit of going to the gym, but as i progressed and started working my way back to the par i set in jan when i stopped, i got hooked all over again..............you'll have to force yourself to go regularly those first 3-4 weeks, like forcefeeding yourself when you already feel full and the food your eating tastes like crap.............keep taking the next bite when you feel like that and you'll be back at it and enjoying it again.

Also as my muscles diminished, so too did my confidence............my lifts are just a few weeks away from being what they were when i quit, and my lost confidence is back...............the respect i get (even though there are guys on this board who dwarf me) is back as well, and the looks from the ladies are much more frequent, daily to be specific.............all the little bonus's and benefits that come from this lifestyle make it sooooooooooo worth it at the end of the day. I may take a week here or there when i feel its necessary, but i'll never do a "not lifting" phase again...............i'll just be giving up everything i've busted my ass for and setting myself back in my quest to constantly reach new heights. Before you know it, you'll be old and your opportunity to develope nice full muscles will be behind you..........get it while the gettin is good like too short said.

The best thing to do to overcome a rut is to change something. If you have a workout partner, maybe get a different one. If you don't have a partner, get one. Set a goal. Vary your routine. You have to do things that make it feel like you're not just going through the motions.

i KNOW what u mean.....that last inch of dropping down to the toilet seat is a killer after u have overdone the squats!
