Default Shot some video of me deadlifting - critiques welcome

Okay, this is not the ideal weight set to be working with. It's those concrete filled plastic ones, so I have to reach lower to grab the bar. I think it's hindering my "keep the shoulders behind the bar" thing.

I've read a bunch of deadlifting stuff and one thing that stuck out is something about how the best deads almost look like they were stiff legged. I hope I'm right.

GWAR is playing in the background (I know someone is gonna ask).

The running shoes are shifting your center of gravity forward. Get some Chucks or moccasins and all your problems will be solved.

Yeah, I still need to do that.

I have another pair of sneakers that are much flatter, really no arch support either. They're a lot better for squatting and deadlifting.

They're also falling apart...

looks more like a stiff legged deadlift.

you need to bend your knees a little bit more - think about working your glutes in the process - this should give you a lot more strength and then you'll have to accelerate your hips to kind of power up.

whenever i watch videos on the internet i always except something funny to happen, sadly there's nothing funny about dead lifts and gwar.

Onerep - I don't know why it's not working for you. Have you tried right click/save as? It's working for me when I do that and when I click directly on the link and stream it.

Are those your legs, or are you riding a chicken?

I like to bring the bar in closer to my body, to the point where I'm nearly dragging it up my shins. I also bend my knees a bit more.

But then again, I'm the guy with 3 bulging discs in my back, from a deadlifting accident.

I'll try moving it in a bit closer. After watching that a few more times I can see your point.


But as far as the rest of it...

Deadlifting is the one exercise it seems I'm constantly learning and I'm still not comfortable with my form. I always feel like I'm doing something wrong, so I figured I'd shoot some video, post it, and get a critique on my form. I havn't lifted in 4 months and I'm fucking embarassed at the weight I'm moving at the moment. I almost didn't post the video just because of that. Out of the 3 boards I visit I figured this was the one where I could get some honest feedback and not a lot of shit.

Don't sweat the weight. It will come back. I've been out of action for 11 months. I've started back doing some cardio a few weeks ago. Tonight I decided to do some light lifting and got pwned by 225 on the bench.

you need to sit lower. your ass should be low and you should be ina power position. also, you can do alot more weight than that but your form needs work first. sit low and drive through your heels. lift the weight with ur legs are much as you possibly can and lock out. you almost want to be pushing back.
