Default which way do you perform your sets?

Saw an article yesterday and that made me think. (yes THINK) A local bb told heīs doing his sets in nonstop style , not pausing in any point during the set. Just bang bang bang for all he has and the quit. Told he get pumped so much better and the stimulus for the muscle to be better that way.
Then I remembered Ronnie Colemanīs clip w those stupendous 200 pounders in bench press. He is using the same manner; rep after rep in the same groove. Getting the reps ( about 10) and then quits. No pausing at any stage. Got what I am after? Ideas and thoughts are welcommed .

I prefer the slow, controlled method. I try to squeeze the target muscle throughout the movement.

I go pretty slow as well, I just make sure my form is pretty good throughout the majority of the set. If I have to cheat a little on the last 2 reps I at least know I did the other ones right.

don't take what pro bodybuilders do as useful for what the average joe does

between the anabolic edge and the genetic edge, it probably won't work for the average guy.

not saying they are wrong or immoral or any of that garbage, just saying that when Michael Jordan dunks, his body doesn't necessarily obey the basic laws of physics that the rest of our bodies do, if you catch my drift.

Thanks for input fellas. But perhaps you didnīt get my point . Not asking about the speed of the reps or like. Instead whether you do all the reps you can without any stops ītill the set is terminated. When I do a set I might do 15 reps and then when the lactic acid takes it toll I might halt , take two breaths and go for few more( 2-5x) . What I intend to do is go straight w out any stopping to that 17-20 limit. Sure it will burn and hurt but Iīll try if it makes any difference.
Am I making any sense ?

I try to go with the heaviest weight that I can do correctly for 5-8 reps. I try not to go over 12 reps usually. I feel it is more conducive for hypertrophy.

Not sure if that answers your question or not. I kind of don't think it does.

The amount of reps is not my point of asking . But if you say you do 5-8 reps( very common to me too) do you try to do all the reps without any stopping ( even a few deep breaths) or do you aim for say 5 reps then take few breaths ( not racking the weight) and go for 2-3 more? Thatīs the point this guy said made a difference in his training. And this guy ,is no bigger than you or say Te....

I stay in control and keep whacking out the reps, I always work breaths into a set without a pause in momentum. I get as many reps as possible each set.

hanuri, are you asking "do you do a continuous tension set" where you move the bar/DB constantly without stopping, kinda like a "pump" set, or do you do your reps with pauses at the top/bottom to catch your breath and release lactic acid"?

if so, then I ALWAYS take a pause as necessary, typically on the "rest" portion of my last few reps of any set. Just to help me knock an extra 1 or 2 out with good form.

unless your intention is doing some variation of rest/pause............most people go straight through a set w/out stopping or hesitation. I've worked rest/pause in w/ 5x5 routine, combining the two............on the first excersise i do 5 x 5 straight through only resting between the sets........then on the secondary lifts...........i'll do rest pause.............worked well for me and kept my workouts short and sweet. I'll be going back to that routine pretty soon actually.
