how do you get ready before a set?

Must say I´m impressed by th eway certain Ronnie C handels his training. Seen a videoclip and read a few articles about his training( currently in Flex is his leg training article). He seems so ready and concentrated..... mumbles "light weight"
and destroys the weight! Like he had done the set even before he actually started it.....Think he has an edge over the others because of he seems to endure pain w ease. That mind - body link is so strong . I´d like to be as concentrated and ready in my training as well. Very often I find myself not thinkin anything before or after the set. just grab the weight and go. I´m positive this mental side would add a new dimension .... What I also like in Ronnie is he don´t make a big number of himself while training. No excess shouting and shit like that. Just almost silent humble work....
Do you have any patterns getting ready for a set? What kind ?

I'm usually very calm and relaxed in the gym no grunting and groaning for the most part. I grab the weights, pause for a couple seconds and think about the set. I doubt it really does much to help me but who knows.

I yawn, close my eyes and visualize it. No grunting or anything like that.

I think the shouting means you are working with an undersized unit.

Read from something your body won´t go anywhere where the mind hasn´t gone before..... perhaps this is something like that I´m after. Especially for those not trained long yet. They should really pause before every set and THINK what they are doing . Not to mention FEEL the work as well. Perhaps comparing Ronnie C´s technigue w mine is a little over the hill but the principle is there still . Don´t rush .

my music really gets me going....before heavy sets i listen to rocky music themes and terminator karate kid....it does it for me big time...but also all my other music does too

The music is the thing for me - Disturbed, Godsmack, Rob Zombie... some very hard and pissed off. "I'm doing the best I ever did... so go away." Don't know why - but stuff like that hypes me up. I breath and visualize the perfect lift with the weight I want... I try to feel the lift done and overwith as if it was easy and way lighter than I expected. Don't know if it helps in reality, but I would say so.
