throw major curves at it. Maybe if HIT isn't doing the trick, another method will work. For instance if it is lats and you normally do wide grip pulldowns, try altering your grip by a few inches. Or, try wide grip chins. Maybe try scaring the lagging part into growing by going for a one rep max or even more than you can do for a one rep max so long as you have a spotter.

I have trouble with arms and shoulders, but once I tried arms at 4 days per week with shoulders, took in 2 to 2.5 lbs of beef per day with medium glycemic carbs and the arms grew an inch in a little less than one month.

Standard response is to shock the body part ... hit it alone on a day, heavy weight/low reps, one exercise down the rack ...

Another is to look and see if you are overtraining. Many body parts are hit again and again when working adjuct areas. Then you hit it again by itself. The body part will not grow and may even get smaller.

If that is the case, drop the number of exercises to 2 and do just 2 sets of each. Make the last set failure.

I know the first time I competed, my back was a weak point. I just made it more of a priority and incorporated more deadlifts.

I hear alot of people complain that they can't get calves to grow, but when I ask them how they train them, they don't usually have an answer.

I don't think changing or lessening the workouts for the other body parts is the answer, I think picking it up for the weak one is.

<Dunno. growth can´t happen if muscles can´t recuperate between workouts... as a natural trainee I have seen this point very clearly over the years. If your arms are behind I´d say don´t try to use too heavy basic moves for them .... your heavy back and chest/ shoulder work will take care of that. I´d go for lighter weights and less sets for arms and really explode those arms in 6-8 sets. Heavy basic work has it´s place but after certain number of years Some changes ought to be done. I´ve read about this from a couple champs and think the same myself. Even training maniac Rich Gaspari 80´s and 90´s champ ( Lee Haney´s training partner around ´84 ) said the same about arms ( biceps) . Likewise our only world champ jorma raty ( world champion 1980) talked the same about his arm training. And his arms were in the class of Robby Robinson, huge w peaks!
I´d be careful not to train too much.....

I don't train any body part differently than the rest. I know guys that train heavy, heavy bench, but train their shoulders and arms at sets of 10 or 15. If my training calls for the 4-6 rep ranges, that's where I stay. Rest pause training helped put some more size on my shoulders. I have yet to find a routine that works on my biceps.

twist...try werking ure forearms tough for a few weeks...im telling u my arms grew just by taking the time out to help my forarms...think about it in simplistic terms...u ever see a guy with big forearms have small biceps?

Word.If people trained their calves as hard as they trained their chest,they'd probably have better calves.Another thing is form.If you're using your biceps on your back exercises,your front delts on your bicep exercises,momentum and bodyweight on your triceps exercises,doing 2 inch squats with 405(while yelling at the top of your lungs)then you're going to have problem areas.
