Default Leg Extensions

When I read that thread about Spook passing out while doing leg extensions, I laughed my ass off. Sorry Spook, that is just funny to me. But I have a question, but let me preface it by saying that I don't do leg extensions. I kind of think it one of those excersizes that look good on paper or seems like it ought to work, but I just don't see results from it. Kind of like tricep kickbacks.

My question is, am I missing the boat? Now many of you guys do them? Why or why not?

I don't do them, for the same reasons you mentioned. I will use them for pre-exhaustion squats or something like that, but not regularly.

I do them once in a while, like a set of 20-30. But barely ever. Never saw much in the way of results when I did do them regularly.



Rather save my energy for squatting and leg press.

i do incoporate them into my lower body routine, i'll pre-exhaust them or do them at the end of my workout and blast them. i'll usually rotate every other week if i do them at the begining or the end.

I'm with yung on this one - I do them at the very end of about every other workout in order to focus on really blowing them out. I've heard from pros that it helps them see the seperations more - i'm not sure, i'm not that cut. I definitely see more from squats (I go all the way down, none of this stop at 90 degrees crap) and heavy leg press. I like step ups, lunges, stiff-legged deads and stair/hill sprints. Calves are their own little worlds, but as far as upper legs go - I like the power stuff.

i often use leg extensions superset w/ seated leg curls to finish off my legs after squats n hack squats.

My most best results in my wheels were from semi-widestance squats followed by narrow-stance hacks, then the fillers like extensions.

I do them first in the quad routine after hamstring work. The action is resistance against the second major function of the quads and vital for full development.

It also preps the knees and quads for the upcoming heavier exercises like presses and squats.

I start every leg wout w them . First one legged , then the regular way. Purpose is to warm the legs fully and kinda pre exhaust them too.A mass move it hardly is but I have a place for them in my training. Some say leg presses are waste of time or lunges.....then why is our humble 8 th time Mr O
Ronnie C doing all of them ( l ext , lunges , leg presses) ? I donīt lock out on extensions and donīt start from too deep angle .

I like to do them supersetting with seated or standing leg curls at the end of my workout. This helps induce vomitting.
