Abdominal and Hipflexor Question

My question is, what is the ideal program to improve your abdominal and hipflexor endurance? Specifically, if I wanted to do more situps during a timed period, what is the best way to improve my numbers?

I had to do timed situps in the army. We did flutter kicks, and situps. Lots of them. I loved doing them though, would drop several times a day to do 100 of them. That is situps, I did not love the flutter kicks.

My advice would be to have alot of rough, fast paced sex.

Flutter kicks, supine bycycle, sit ups --- all the same to me. I just can never get past 60 on the APFT.

Do you run out of energy, or just time? Do you slow down near the end, or are you just stuck at 30 a min?

You could also try some V-ups (hanging leg raises). Those will tax your ass.

My hip-flexors fail mw towards the end. No matter how I place my feet, no matter if toes are up or down, 90 degree angle or less, my pain occurs in my hipflexors only.

I get to around 30 when my steam drops a bit. 40-50 is just working hard...getting to 60 is pure heart.

That does not exactly mean they are the problem. They could be doing more of the work to make up for weaker abs. Or it could mean your hip flexors just hate you.

To work them, you can definitely do what onerep recommended, hanging leg raises for reps. But you also need to get in high reps of sit-ups. The best way to train for high reps, is to do high reps. You are strong enough to move your weight, now you have build endurance. This is why in basic they drop you all the time. By the end of the day you may have done 200 extra reps and not even noticed. So do that to yourself. Any time you have a min, drop and do the 30-60 you can. You will notice that number go up quick.

Also on test day make sure you warm up and stretch.
