Training routine: Your experiences and ideas

At my gym, not many people train well (I think so as they only read newspapers or magazines, spend hours there and talk. Never see them sweat. Wonder why they go there ...).

Also, in most cases many people would never talk about their routine handling it like the best kept secret. So, again, thank you to share your thoughts and experiences with me!!

I train so far as following:

Mo: Chest, biceps, abs
Tue: cardio
Wedensday: Triceps, abs
Thursday: cardio
Friday: Back, shoulder, abs
Sat/Sun: in general off or sometimes some cardio

At present I train per body part 4/5 exercise, 6 - 8 reps.

Guess a bit a lot? What would you say?

Sleeping, in general 7 to 8 hours
Nutrition is my weak point. Can't handle to eat all that stuff but try. Try to do some supplements (weight gainers, protein), boiled eggs 3 to 4 per day, rice, chicken, etc. But, as said, also enjoy some nice dinners (mostly over weekend) and really enjoy wine. Guess that is why I do not have a belly but no 6 pack, too! Guess cutting on alcohol and doing more cardio is the key for that...?

Then again, we also should live and enjoy life.....

forgotto mentione. Legs the same day as triceps.

I've broken my routine down to working and alternating throughout the weeks: chest/tri's, legs (squats)/shoulders, back (upper)/bi's, legs(dl's)/back(lower). I'll alternate leg day by going heavy(er) on one day vs another.....either or but not both. Hope my jibber-jabber here helps rather than confuse you.

I dont think you need to go all out and get excessive in doing a ton of different exercises to target one muscle. Start off by sticking to the basic compound movements and vary up the exercises and repetitions so that you keep your body guessing. Change your routine up at least every 4 weeks.

As far as the nutrition.... what has always helped me in getting my best results is to plan and prepare my meals ahead of time.

Oh and on cardio........ when I do it, I constantly change up how much I'm doing. I'd venture to say most people here are against doing a ton of cardio however I've gone 3x a week for 30 min to 5x, to twice a day 5x a week for 30-45 min. Que sera, sera... but I guess how much cardio you do largely depends on what your goals are. I'm mainly into it for cutting down.

Solid suggestions, Chiquitita. Here you can find a few more suggestions as well. There are also other threads in this forum that offer my suggestions for different ways to train various bodyparts. My carnivore diet is rather extreme, and though effective,too hardcore for most. Mr. X has written a number of article on diet in his articles forum as well. Good luck and have fun!
