I would kill to have one of those EFS power racks. Of course If I had all the space and all that equipment no one will ever see me outside of my home. Only go to work, and come back home. Go out shop for groceries, go back come. Out for some p>>>>, well you get the idea :bigsmile

My current power rack isn't an EFS rack Although I'm definitely in the works at getting one... saving money... I'm thinking about buying one with band pegs and a few other goodies; I like the way the dip stand attaches to the rack and that it is flared for body type/exercise adjustment>>>Will definitely get rid of my parallel bars.

My opinion: EFS equipment by far is superior to many commercial and home gym brands... Designed by powerlifters/body builders or people who actually use the equipment on a day-to-day basis and know what/how to design them. I have good equipment and some that I think is questionable... Of course the equipment that I have from Ironmind and EFS is excellent quality and the others are due to be replaced.

I used to work out at home, but i found it to easy to skip workouts when tired or quit half way through,working out at a commercial gym gives me more drive and interest.

i have both too and prefer the gym. I like the atmosphere and i like to people watch. My kids love the play area so it`s fun for them too..especially the rock climb and pool. I too find it easy to just get lazy and quit halfway thru sometimes if Im` just at home. The gym has it all...I only have free weights a lat puller and a squat rack...I can get good workouts still...but I just like the gym

I bought all my own equipment, both new and used, after a couple of bad months at a mom and pop commercial gym. Power rack for biceps, digging through dimes and nickels to uncover the 45's, but the end game went like this high school kids would do shrugs in the power rack, ok i can deal with that, but at the end of the set they would just drop the weight, bending the supports all to hell. I got in the habit of carrying a five pound sledge hammer in my gym bag to be able to bend them back so i could remove them from the rack and put them where i needed them. well one day some blue hair on the treadmill called the owner and said i was beating on the equipment and generally raising hell. Enter gym owner stage left who proceeds to interupt me mid squat with about 550 on my back to tell me im no longer a member get out. a day later after reviewing the security tape she called me and apologized and that she wished id come back. I lifted there for two more weeks till all my equipment was acquired and have never been back. i go to a golds about once or twice a year becasue of holiday travel or work but thats it. for all you guys looking into a home gym New York Barbell has decent home equipment, nice specialty bad and attachments and alot of times has free shipping.

I would love to have my own personal gym at the house but I have no room for it and the money to spend on it. Right now I work out where I can but when I get back to the states I am hitting the gyms on base until I can make room and save some money for the weights and sets. I love free weights but I do like the isolation machines offered by gyms but I could do without them.

i got alot of my equipment from a company that makes gym equipment and takes trade-ins. the prices on the used stuff were awesome for a cash price, and they get to right it off as a loss. as far as room for it mine is in one side of a 2 and a half car garage but i have friends that have put there gym in a storage unit that they rent for like 40$ a month, its a 24hr access facility and no charge for the electric to run the lights or the radio, not heat or air but its only 40$. they mounted all the big stuff (read squat rack, bench,etc..) on half inch plywood covered in rubber flooring. so equipment is more secure than it would be just sitting on concrete and no holes in the floor and you can move the stuff outside every month or so to sweep. I have a killer weight set. I can do everything right here at home. I'd still go to the gym though. Seems I get more motivated at the gym and after working out I liked shootin the bull with the owner after my workouts. Lots of cool people. .25 draft, pour your own and leave a quarter on the counter. It was Natural light but 8 oz. for a quarter....cant beat it!

i might dig through the dimes for the fortyfives if i had .25 drafts to look forward to. but alas i dont so i keep the basement fridge stocked with corona light, bud select, or killians. for post workout carb loading with my protien
