Possible or not?

i've recently got back into rock climbing. now the last time i bulked up my legs grew the most..

i'm wondering if its possible to decrease muscle mass in 1 body part alone. and keep the rest.

i have only 1 idea on how this could happen..

one day i did my usual workout in the morning before work and i felt like going to the gym after work and did the same mucle that i did that morning.. and was sore as hell for about 5 days.. a few weeks later i read in a book that doing that would be extremely catabolic for the muscle.

even if this works, i'm sure it would be very likely to have an injury from overworking the muscle... but hell.. that would just mean that i cant work that muscle out which is what i'm doing now.
