Discouraged; no visible difference?

I have been running on the treadmill for 30 days and have lost 17lbs. I took my 30 day picture and did a side by side comparison from the picture I took on day one and there is no noticeable difference in the pictures? How can this be? When will my gut start to disappear?

Ok my rant is over, back to running and working out! Hopfully the difference will show on my next photo shoot

Keep taking your pictures.... you may not notice a visible difference now but give your self some time.

I have to take weekly pics for my coach and week after week I dont notice the subtle differences unless I compare 2 or 3 mos... then the changes really pop out and slap me in the face! You could also ask a family member or friend "critique" your progress pics, you know we're our own worst critics to not notice the little subltey's of or progress.

Another thing I like to do to gauge my progress is to take body measurements... I know for me when I start dropping wieght my face and legs are first to make a grand change before the rest of my body starts to follow.

Either way you have to be happy with losing 17lbs so don't get disocuraged. The scales don't lie so that weight is gone and I would say that a great proportion (80% possibly) is fat. As Chiq mentioned it may take some time to see the differences from phot's but if you stick with it you will see them.

The problem we have here is those damn adverts that show these momentous changes in people after only 4-6 weeks which is for the most part bullshit. I was watching this channel this morning that proclaimed "Loose weight by eating as much as you can and doing motionless exercise 7 minutes a day, garaunteed". Give me a break!! Then they post up these before and after pics...wowzers..such crap.
