Lats

I concur..............the wide grip pull up is probably my favorite for developing the lats..........makes them nice and thick.

Another issue I have when I am in the gym is how many people do shit the wrong way. The bent over row is designed to work the middle of the back, not primarily the lat. People always bend way the hell over and the rock it back...........it is much better to maintain a good position and squeeze the middle of the back.............Also, the lat pull downs, they alway take it too far back in their position and wind up working the rear delts...........or the go too far down and get the rotator cuff injury...............


Anyway, enough *****ing.................start out with as many as you can for 4-5 sets......your strength will grow and so will the lats..........I was 278 pounds at my heaviest and I used to do them with 2 45 pound plates on a waist strap............they work very well.........of course, 3 knee surgeries and a shoulder repair later and I am not as big as I once was..............but it is coming back....

This sounds simple and basic but if you do it consistently I GUARANTEE you will have a bigger, thicker, wider back!

I've noticed guys can have a pretty mediocre upper body, but if their lats are big, they look huge!

That's perfect! The only difference between my routine and this one is that I use DB rows instead of the cable rows and only do about 30 chins as a warm up .
