Bowflex?

Any of yall have a new bowflex? If so what are your opinions of them. Im considering buying one because of my work and also 20 mile drive to the gym and they only open till 9. Im starting to miss workouts because of the situation and its getting busier because of summer and this is the main time I need to be working out.

Any info is appriciated.

i bought one several years ago , used it for 2 months and hated it. Sold it for half its value and bought free weight bench from kmart(believe it or not)and still use it to this day.you can get a nice free weight setup for what they cost

then again they may have perfected the design by now

I have a friend who has the whole bowflex set up that he uses when he's not able to get to the gym. It's a decent setup and as with any home gym as long as you use it... its effective. Me personally, I would opt to building something that was a little more cost effective.

My problem on home gym pieces is that I dont have the room to spare for all the equiptment I need. I know its cheaper but cant go that route.

I find them very awkward.

You might be able to keep toned with one but I dont see it build any substantial LBM.

Agreed. I really enjoy the bowflex my roommate has... but it is not a replacement for going to the gym, only a supplement in my mind. Great for missing those days you don't have the time to make it to the gym, but for a serious lifting replacement, it doesn't do a gym the service. Not saying you can not get a great workout from it though, because I have. You do have the idea, they fold up quite nicely and take up hardly any room when not in use.

I own one. Ultimate model. Paid $2200 for it 4 years ago. Maxed out on squats (310 "bowflex" pounds) in 2 months. But, when I tried barbell squat,
I could only do 175 lbs. Still have it. Upgraded to squat rack and barbell set with powertech FID bench for a fraction of the cost paid for BF. Mainly use it for warmups, during leg and chest days. And hope that my old lady would use it someday.
