Why ?????

Why do tricep dips seem to kick the shit out of my chest instaed of my tri's. My pecs are sore to the touch. Is that normal or is my form wrong?

i have noticed when i arch forward i hit more of my chest, and when i keep my body strait up and down movements, i hit more of my tri's.

yeah, i agree.. it's almost like dips, if lean in a bit you hit the lower chest.. if you keep upright it isolates your tris a lot more

Its your position your doing them in, you need to stay upright, keeping your elbow tightly into the body and you glute slightly grazing the bench or what ever it is you are doing them on. Keep you chest up and lifted, it is a secondary working muscle in the exercise, also you may be using too much weight, and the larger of the 2 muscle groups are taking over.

very good point!

something i sometimes forget when i decide to up the weight a little too much in other exercises..
