MAN!! What a great question. I know I'm new to this site BUT that was one of my first questions as a newb. There is no exact answer because everyone is diff. It depends on your genetics, gear, someties diet, and what you are trying to accomplish. The way to get your answer is a log. Get a good resting heart rate count after you wake up in the mornings and use it as a gauge, along with your log, to see how fast you recover. I know when I am leaning down, I increase my sessions, up the cardio time, do more reps with less weight, and do 3 on 1 off. (you are not trying to accomplish any gains here-just polishing up) When I am adding mass I do large motion lifts like squats, deads, presses,etc. and have to space the sessions out a little longer. Usually in the gym 1 day and rest 2 days. I also do 20 min cardio at the end of each session to keep from getting too flabby. This is the best routine for me but everyone is different and I have friends that only rest one day and on 6. They do isolation movements and work a few different muscle groups at a session. They also use the machines in the gym which, is not for me. Hey, to each his own. So, start your log, take your resting heart rate in the mornings, and set some goals. Without goals, you'll never know where you are going and when you get there.

well i was doing 6 0n 3 0ff but now i have changed it to 3 on 1 off and i find im stronger,, just wanted to know what people thought on the matter,, thanks for ur input brodye,
