Default Single Muscle or 2 a day??? ..... and why??

Ok....ive switched up my routine several times to see what i like best.... for me it seems that i get better results doing 1 muscle a day for 7 days....tris, back, bis, chest, legs, shoulders, abs.....i do about 4-6 exercises for each one...

...i was on a HIIT routine with 2 groups a day with only about 2-3 exercises per muscle group....i liked it at first but never really saw a benefit..????...it was nice only hitting the gym 3 days a week, but i didnt feel like i was gaining any ground...i was just coasting...no loss but no gain....


my question is...is going 7 days a week too much??? each muscle still gets a long rest period....i may take an entire day off in between some exercises if i feel like i need it but other than that do you need to ??? ....

....here is what i do now.. the "//" mean supersets

Day 1 - Tris
close grip bench //dips
french press
tricep press down // dips

Day 2 - Back
deadlift
lat pull down (2 sets wide, 2 sets close)
bent over BB rows // straight arm push down
bent over DB rows
good mornings

Day 3 - Biceps
concentration curl
ez bar curls // standing alt curl
incline // till failure
preacher curls

Day 4 - Chest
flat bench press // flies
incline bench press // push-ups
decline bench press

Day 5 - Legs
Lunges // leg ext
Squats
Stiff leg deadlift // leg curls
calf raises

Day 6 - Shoulders
military press
upright rows // bb shrugs
arnold press // bb front raise
side lat raise

Day 7 - Abs-Forearms
weighted decline sit up
weighted decline reach
weighted oblique sit ups
cable crunches

wrist curls
reverse curls


am i hitting the single muscles too much on other days with compound movements???

i feel like each muscle gets its ass kicked this way....with 2 groups a day and 2-3 exercises i just wasnt feeling it....and i was going intense....any ideas, thoughts, rules, science, etc... behind why or why not would be appreciated

soo u didnt like the HIIT routine? i was thinking of giving it a try u know sumthing different......but im like u i feel like im not really doing anything with 2-3 sets on major muscle groups.... when i think of training i think of all out blood/sweat/guts hardcore training!!!!! with 8-12 sets for maj muscle groups like legs/back/chest and 6-8 for smaller muscle groups shoulders/tris/bis/traps/calves.............

i liked it to an extent but i never felt like i was doing all i could.....i felt like i was half assing it only doing 2 exercises on a muscle group...but the concept behind it makes since to me, but if you want a HIIT routine here is mine and MPs....

ok thanks bro...i think im gona give it a try for a few weeks an see what i think i guess it cant hurt since im at a standstill with my current training routine...

have you tried "shock" routines to get through a plateau....i read some stuff on them when looking for routines....maybe u need that
