now this realy pxssed me off, i go to do the leg press and i load it up with 12 plates, i do 3 sets and it feels light so i ask someone to sit on it, i have done this before and this little gym worker came over and said if you do that again i will ban you, and tryed to give me a lecture of how unsafe it is, so i stated the obviouse and said its too light so he then tryed to give me another lecture telling me to do more reps like no lower then 14 i told him nicely that is a total waste of time for me, i do strongman sports and aim to build mass, people who train the way you say are endurance athletes, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhh, i then went over to do some front squats this women came over again and said your taking the piss, i said what you talking about she said you no full well what im talking about, and i just looked at her and i grit my teeth then she said can you put the weight back please, i thought wtf eveyone is taking the weight of there because its easier what do i pay you people for????, so i took the weight off and put them on the racks which were underneath and harder to reach, i fineshed front squatting then done some leg exstensions, the same little bloke came over and said we are cracking down on people leaving the weights out and not putting them back , i said yeh, he said so can you put the weight back please, i didnt even bother telling him i would have to put them on the floor because the racks were blocked because the squat rack was too close to the wall so i just went over there put the weight on the floor and i go round to the other side and i see they are watching me, as i go to finish of my set he went to come over and i kind of shouted bearing in mind i was on my last rep to waite!! i got up and said you want me to put the weight back go pull the squat rack out, you no what he said oh dont worry then??? what lazy cxnts!!!

Nope my gym is very relaxed mainly cuz its so small they can't afford to ban anyone they need all the members they can get lol.

I don't have that problem, luckily. I'm really close to the owners of my gym, because one of them is a powerlifter and he lets me just about anything that i want since i work hard. =)

it happend again today my strap broke wilst deadlifting and the weight went down like a ton, the women came over from up stairs and said what the fuck was dat, i said my straps i bought of you broke, she said well they aint ment for that kind of weight do less with more reps???? then she walked of and said learn to train properly, there idea of training properly is no under 20 reps, i admit i maxed out today but no need for that comment,then her bloke came over who owned the gym and said if it ever happens again he will ban me.

i think they are just stuck up twats who dont want any one lifting heavy because they think it sends a bad image

they tell me to train properly????? i am 3 times the size off him and 6-7 times stronger

how can they give me advice, not slagging them off but they seem to do it infront of everyone saying if you trained properly you will be twice as big and as strong????

its come to the point im iver gonna slap one off them of leave

everyone in the gym was on my side i think thats the only reason i didnt get banded.

they did laugh thoe when the bloke said my floor lol nothink was broke or damaged

Well, you're right. They don't want you scaring the "normal" people who come mainly to socialize but who also keep the club open with their dues. It's getting hard these days to find a hardcore gym but that's the best solution. Either that or since it's their house you have to play by their rules. If you can find a gym with an Olympic lifting platform that would be a good sign. Good luck.

I think you should bring in some resistance bands and do high reps while screaming. Then when they tell you to be quiet choke them with the bands.--Seriously though, they're holding you up from progressing. If there's no other gym near you, that sucks! I had an idiot at my last gym that seemed to follow me and point out the same crap so I went somewhere else.

MO2014,i go thru this constantly at my gym.altho i don't load up the leg press with your wghts(good wghts by the way!)i do like to try and go as heavy as i can on squats,which are my weakest lift.i load up what i can and usually do a 5 x 5 box squat style using a flat bench for the box.no one,and i mean no one in my gym ever usues the rack for anything but curls(which i friggin HATE!) so this guy comes up to me and asks if i'm almost done cause he's gotta do his *** ass 65lb bb curls and if i can hurry up.mind you i'm on oral tren at the moment so i told him to beat off.after my last 5th set i immediately dropped the wght down and did a 20rep set in which i almost puked my guts up.the gym manager walked over to me and said i was hogging the rack and not to do suqats like that anymore.can you believe this?!i even apologized to mr. pencilpenis for slowing down his truly gut wrenching bicep workout.other times i'm trying to blast thru 120lb incline db benches and by my 3rd set of 10-12 i'm pretty worn out so i let out a little "roar" once in a while.they even told me this isn't that type of gym and i make some of the other patrons "nervous".nervous they said!of what,growing?W T F has happened to the iron pits of yesteryear i ask you?i feel ya brother.just keep growing and f-them all kid!!!!!!!

When I first started, I went to a small hole in the wall gym with my dad. Everyone had the same goal- get big by any means. It was a great place to learn. Most of the bars were bent from heavy lifting. Not much cardio equipment. It was common to see guys train with a trash can nearby to puke in. Its sad that these gyms have closed down and we're stuck with comercial yuppie gyms to train at. We know how to achieve size and greatness. Our tried and true training methods work, but, in todays gyms, if we're not doing "core training" and following the fad workout, we're misusing the equipment and intimidating the newbies. It was bodybuilders, us, who first built and designed the stuff that these idiots are dictating to us how to use. I say screw the trash can. Puke on the skinny yupie personal trainer at your local gym. Hog the rack and squat until the bar is unusable. I think that as more people get interested in our sport maybe soon would be a good time to start opening gyms aimed at people like us, like the old days. I feel your pain and would like it if we could make those dorks feel some real pain to.
