ive torn my calves

So ive just recieved 2cc's of cortisone in each leg, im on a double dose of anti-inflamotary's and i cant walk or stand up straight. This cycle is sucking ass....

OUCH...that's some tough luck. I hope it heals quickly. This may not even pertain to you but I've always had a problem with some techniques used while lifting using calve muscles. I won't use anything to step up on. Dropping your heels below a level plane isn't a normal range of motion. I just go up on the balls of my feet and back down to the floor. I'll stretch them on a step of something but I won't lift off of a surface that isn't flat. There's a machine at the gym that you can load a ton of weight on and put the balls of your feet on the foot pads and lift but it allows your heels to go back as far as you allow. Another calve killer. How'd you tear yours?

My calves have always been my weakest muscle and as you say they are indeed the show-off musclles of the leg. Basically i nailed them doing all the exercised u mentioned above haz. Started off by doing some warnups on the calf raise machine as per norm. then did five supersets of the rotation calf machine (thinks its the one u refeffred to haz) while hitting some free weight calf raised. Then when on to doing some more calf raises, varying foot placement, off a platform on the smithmachine with like 160kg of weight loaded. What killed was that i finished off by doing a 5 minute sprint on the spinning bikes, i actually heard pop on both sides at three minutes in.

Still not able to walk flatfooted, hopefully ill be able to walk by tomorroew coz i got back and chest left to do this week....

Dude, I'm really sorry to hear that. I think I'm gonna start training calves the way haz explained. If I don't train other body parts past a normal range of motion then why do it with calves....very good logic. I hope you heal quickly. God speed!

thanks a lot ez...yeah feeling a bit better today, should be able to drive and walk tomorrow. Damn happy coz i need to get my ass back in the gym

wow, sounds like a little much for calves.....

...thats one muscle that i honestly never have to work out....i dont know why, but my calves are already naturally big, and if i do any exercises for them they swell up fast....

....i dont even work them out anymore....i let deads do their magic on them.
