Bruising

I've been having some trouble the past few weeks with some nasty bruising. I train Muay Thai with the highest intensity possible 5 days a week. I haven't had a cycle yet, though my first will begin this week. I'm 35 yrs old, before you have to start to wonder about it. Anyway the problem is that I have been stepping up the intensity and this week have intense, nasty, painful bruises on the inside and outside of my left thigh from throwing so many brutal knees with my trainers. I think it's coming from getting winded, but still trying my best to throw the knee but coming up short and slamming the top of my thigh into my trainers pads. Anyway my question is what have you guys found that works for taking the pain out of bruises? I'm using massage, boxing liniment, anti inflammatories, and cold and hot packs to try to take the sting out but it's still affecting my 4th and 5th workout each week.

Yep sometimes I seem to post any little thing, what the hell was I thinking, its just a bruise damn. They go away on their own, you just have to wait a few days...

try to ice down your affected thigh immediately before and after training. also a cold spoon or my favorite frozen dixie cups full of water and massage the affected area. gently at first then as the area gets numb increase the pressure the massages should not be painful, discomfort maybe but if the F***ing hurt your massaging too hard. also if your bruising this badly i wouldnt take anything containing asprin as it will make the bruising worse, nicotine would also increase the clotting factors and make the situation worse, good luck brother and keep kickin.....US OLD GUYS GOTTA STICK TOGETHER!

That's interesting, I took paracetamin (sp?) to stop any swelling but that does thin the blood too, not as much as aspirin I think but probably added to the bruising. Don't smoke so there's no worries about nicotine but glad you mentioned it, one more reason not to go back. I'm with you bro us older guys do have to stick together, on Friday night my wife was worried about me - walking around like a 90 year old who just filled his diaper lol.

That should not affect clotting.

Doesn't seem so bad now really, I started my first cycle over the weekend and went for a quad on the unbruised leg, now that one feels about the same as the bruised one lol. Of course it's been 5 days since the bruising started so it's healed quite a bit now, just looks like hell...lots of not so pretty colors.
