last time I checked he didnt run the UFC or EliteXC...so how is he going to make the legitimate sport the next WWE. People identify with the Blue collar type of individuals. Such as a Tank Abbott back in the day when he would go kick the shit out of some 3rd degree black belt.

No one ever claimed Kimbo owned the sport. The fact is that the image he brings to the sport is bad for the long term legitimization of MMA. Fyi, example, MMA was BANNED in California until recently.

MMA needs real role model athletes, not some coke junkie who worked for porn peddling smut dealers. NOTE: a) Kimbo admitted fighting his "street" fights while using coke b) the company he "worked" for was a huge owner of porn sites and "young underage" girl sites

You are correct about it being banned...it was banned many places because various Gov. and Sen. thought it was barbaric and had no place in our society. Recent changes in ownership of the UFC by "Dana" has let people see the actual sport side of it. Programs like the Ultimate Fighter has given the public some insight on the intricacies of the sport, and it is booming! Effective marketing!! Everybody cant be a role model..the sport has great role models already! Im sure Bas Rutten is training him for a reason...and I am aware of "Reality Kings"so what..Tito Ortiz dates a Porn star!!
