Kimbo Slice makes MMA debut, submits Ray Mercer

Internet celebrity Kimbo Slice, real name Kevin Ferguson, won his mixed martial arts debut against former heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Slice locked in a tight guillotine choke from guard to submit Mercer at 1 minute and 12 seconds into the first round.

After the fight, Slice challenged "Tank" Abbott for CFFC 6 on September 14.

Slice became an overnight internet sensation due to his widely circulated bare-knuckle fight videos. His most popular video was an underground fight against Boston police officer Sean Gannon, whom the UFC later signed in an effort to capitalize on the notorious video.

I was at a Mercer fight one time and he knocked the other dude out of the ring.

I was interested to see if Kimbo had any ground game, because all of his fights on the net are boxing style...I didn't really get to see any ground skills however he is still in good shape.

I always laugh at the guys who say he could beat Fedor. Apparently they know nothing about the sport. Fedor is a ****ing animal.

There's a bunch of Antonio Silva homer's that think he could beat Fedor too. The same kid who lost to Eric Pele. lol

tank will outbrawl him and break his neck. I love watching Tank fight. He was one of the best earloy on but all the technical stuff got the best of him.
Looks like Kimbo is gonna be rich.
