    Loved Platz...he was one of my inspirations as well.....
    Killer video...that wasnt that long ago I believe!!!

    that guy took training to new dimensions. for him there seemingly was no such thing as "normal " set. look at his other clips!

    Yeah, his training was freakish. I could never understand though why he couldn't build his upper body the way he did his legs as hard as he trained. I guess this is a good pointer to genetics possibly.

    his symmetry got better over the yrs , but never good. well never good enough to win MR O ....he was close in -81 !

    That was Bill Kazmeyer (SP?) in the background. I believe it was quite some time ago. Still awesome.

    If I remember correctly Platz started in Powerlifting and his routine was centered mainly on the big 3, when he switched to BB the unbalance was too great and his biceps lagged way too behind. When he was doing negatives on the preacher bench he ripped his biceps...end of the career for him.

    I wasn't aware of that. I just remember whenever there was a spread in Flex or the like back in the day i used to be in awe of this guy when he trained, especially legs of course.

    Awesome! Love that video so much I have it copied onto my computer to watch for inspiration from time to time.
