Cool Dumbbell squats vs Barbell squats

I've been doing barbell squats for a while now and im satisfied with my gains reps and so forth. I was doing research on different leg workouts and not much is listed on Dumbbell squat as well as the Grand daddy Barbell.

I tried Dumbbell squats for the first time the other day and was very impressed with the pump and the range of motion etc.

I will switch up the 2 every so often to shock my workout and keep it fun.

Give me some thoughts on DB Squats roiders

Barbell squats all the way. No comparison.
I am moving this to the right section.

Straps, Dumbbells in the floor, up and down.
Again Barbell squats are the daddy for leg workouts but im just trying new things.
Could be a good warm up into BB squats or good to to between of afterwords.

Dumbell lunges. Walk the length of the gym then back again. That will switch it up for you.

yeah you said exactly what i was thinking. Once i added dumbell walking lunges in my legs frickin took off big time. Sometimes i use a barbell over my shoulders and do em too. Alot of guys think that walking lunges are a girlie workout but they made my legs explode and i could give two shits about what other people think about a routine if it creates results.

Done with sufficient weight (preferably with a barbell) they're "better" than squats for the same exact reason that squats are "better" than the leg press. They're harder and require more balance and stabilization. I prefer them non-alternating, just stepping back and forth with the same leg as the step back puts a lot on the medial glute of the stationary leg.
